“I built a cultural micro-product with Next.js and it's getting SEO traffic globally 🚀”

24

Hey folks 👋

I recently launched a small side project built with Next.js static export, targeting a very niche but culturally meaningful concept: the Chinese Gender Prediction Calendar.

⚙️ What it is:
It’s a gender prediction calendar based on a centuries-old Chinese tradition. The idea is simple — you input the mother’s age and the month of conception, and it “predicts” the baby’s gender. It's just for fun, but this chart has gained popularity in English-speaking parenting forums over the years.

🌍 Why I built it:
I wanted to test "micro-product + cultural SEO" as a side project strategy.

Most existing tools were outdated or full of ads.

I saw long-tail traffic potential with almost zero competition in the modern web space.

It’s static, fast, and accessible worldwide (thanks to Next.js export mode).

🛠️ Stack:
Next.js (static export)

No backend

Fully mobile-first

SEO optimized with custom , OG tags, semantic HTML

Hosted on Vercel

📈 Early results:
Without promotion, it's already ranking for some long-tail keywords — probably due to speed, content quality, and a clean UX.

💬 Why I’m sharing:
I’d love to connect with others building tiny tools with global appeal, especially those exploring non-English cultures or alternative distribution strategies.

If you're working on anything similar — cultural, multilingual, SEO-based, or just weird and fun — drop your link or idea below. Let’s share and learn 🌏🔥

🧠 TL;DR
Cultural content still works

SEO isn’t dead (if fast & focused)

Next.js is great even for niche tools

“Small + global” can be a powerful combo![Description]( )
